Mainly it is prepared from idli batter, split red gram, fresh coconut and some other spices.

Ingredients for Stuffed Kachori Idli:

Main Ingredients:

Idli Batter as per required.
50 gm Crushed Split Red Gram.
1 tbsp Grated Fresh Coconut.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Chilli Paste.
1 tsp Fennel Seeds.
1 tsp Sesame Seeds.
1/8 tsp Turmeric Powder.
1 tsp Sugar.
½ tsp Lemon Juice.
Salt as per taste.
1 tbsp Oil.

Serving:

Fresh Coconut Chutney.

Stuffed Kachori Idli Preparations:

  • Heat a pan then add in sesame seeds, fennel seeds and wait till starts slathering.
  • Now add in ginger garlic chilli paste and saute for little time.
  • Now add in crushed split red grams, turmeric powder, salt, sugar and little water and cook it till red gram get nicely cooked and water get soaked.
  • Now add in fresh grated coconut along with lemon juice and mix well.
  • Now turn the heat off and take out stuffing in a bowl and keep aside to cool.
  • When stuffing get cool make small size of tikkis from it.
  • Now grease the idli mould with oil then put some idli batter in mould then put one tikki on batter.
  • Again put some batter on tikki, now put this mould in steamer, cover and cook idli for about 10-12 minutes.
  • After 10-12 minutes turn the heat off and take out the mould from steamer and let them cook for few minutes.
  • Now un-mould the stuffed kachori idli and serve with fresh coconut chutney.
