How to Make Spinach Lentil Curry.

Spinach lentil curry is yet another easy and healthy Indian curry recipe to make at home. As you all know about the spinach and lentils both are very god source of energy, proteins, vitamins and many other healthy nutrients. Taste of this curry is really very delicious, not too spicy nor heavy so you can also have it in dinner with simple roti or rice. Mainly this palak moong dal curry is prepared from spinach, split green gram lentils and some spices.

All the required ingredients to make this simple and healthy curry are very simple and commonly available. Ingredients for Spinach Lentil Curry:

Main Ingredients:

250 gm Chopped Spinach.
100 gm Cooked Split Green Gram Lentil or Mung Dal.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

1 tsp Cumin Seeds.
2 tbsp Finely Chopped Garlic.
1 tbsp Finely Chopped Green Chillies.
½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder.
½ tsp Shahi Garam Masala.
Salt according to taste.
4 tbsp Oil.

Garnishing:

2 Whole Dry Red Chillies.

Spinach Lentil Curry Preparations:

  • Heat oil in non stick kadai then add in cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • When cumin seeds starts crackling add garlic and cook it till become light pink colour.
  • Now add in green chillies and saute for little time then add in turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and stir well.
  • Now quickly add in spinach and lower the flame, cover and cook spinach for further few minutes, it will take about 5-7 minutes to cook.
  • After 5-7 minutes give it a check if spinach is cooked then add cooked mung dal, shahi garam masala and mix well with spinach and other spices.
  • If spinach is not cooked then cook it for further few minutes.
  • Now cover and cook it for 2 minutes, after 2 minutes turn the heat off and take out the delicious spinach lentil curry in a serving plate.
  • Garnish with whole dry red chillies and serve hot with roti, chapatti or rice and enjoy.
