How to Make Sev Tomato Gravy.

Sev tomato gravy is one of the very simple, easy and quick gujarati curry recipe which is really very tempting and delicious in taste. Today we will show you how to make this yummy tummy gravy in gujarati style. Mainly it is prepared from sev (gram flour snack), tomatoes and some spices. Taste of this sev tomato curry is little sweet, spicy and tangy whereas Rajasthani sev tomato curry is spicy. With being delicious this subzi is also very healthy and nutritious too.

You can prepare this quick sev tomato gravy for lunch or dinner and have it with roti, chapatti or rice whichever you like. Usually this curry is little dry but you can also make it watery by adding some water. Along with this you may also like some other gujarati curries like lima beans curry, gathiya nu shaak, dahi ki subzi etc…..

Ingredients for Sev Tomato Gravy:

Main Ingredients:

400 gm Tomatoes.
100 gm Ratlami Sev.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

1 tsp Fennel Seeds.
1 tsp Cumin Seeds.
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder.
½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
1-2 tbsp Jaggery.
½ tsp Shahi Garam Masala.
Salt according to taste.
3 tbsp Oil.

Sev Tomato Gravy Preparations:

  • Wash tomatoes and chop in small equal size of pieces.
  • Now heat oil in pan, when oil gets heated add in cumin seeds, fennel seeds and let them crackle.
  • Now add in chopped tomatoes and mix well then add in red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, jaggery and mix all the spices well.
  • Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes, after 2-3 minutes add in shahi garam masala and again cover and cook for another 1 minute.
  • After 1 minute remove the lead and add in ratlami sev and mix well.
  • Now cook it for 1 minute more, after adding sev all the excess water will be soaked and curry will become dry.
  • After 1 minute turn the heat off and take out the gravy in serving plate and serve with roti, chapatti or rice.
