How to Make Moong Lentil Curry.

Moong lentil curry is one of the very commonly cooked curry recipe in Indian houses. This is really very simple and easy to make lentil curry mainly prepared from split green gram and some other spices. With being delicious this curry is also very healthy and nutritious too. As the moong lentils are rich in proteins, fibers and other nutrients. You can prepare this curry for lunch and dinner and have it with simple roti, chapatti and rice.

Ingredients for Moong Lentil Curry:

Main Ingredients:

200 gm Cooked Split Green Gram Lentil Or Pili Moong Dal.
2 Medium Size Chopped Onion.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

2 tbsp Raw Peanuts.
2 tbsp Finely Chopped Garlic.
1 tbsp Finely Chopped Green Chillies.
½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
½ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
1 tsp Cumin Seeds.
½ tsp Dry Coriander Seeds.
½ tsp Mustard Seeds or Rai Dana.
7-8 Curry Leaves.
2 Whole Dry Red Chillies.
3-4 tbsp Oil.
Salt According to Taste.

Moong Lentil Curry Preparations:

  • Heat oil in a non stick pan, when oil gets hot add whole dry red chillies and cumin seeds and let them slather.
  • Now add in mustard seeds and coriander seeds, let them slather too.
  • Now add peanuts and cook for few seconds then add in garlic and curry leaves, cook it till garlic become light pink in colour.
  • Now add green chillies and onion and cook till onion become transparent.
  • Now add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, mix all the spices well and then add cooked moong dal and mix well with spices.
  • Now cover and cook it for 2-3 minutes at medium flame.
  • After 2-3 minutes turn the heat off and take out the healthy and delicious moong dal curry in a serving plate and serve hot.
