How to Make Fried Idli at Home.

Hello friends today here we are with another healthy snacks recipe which is well known as fried idli. This recipe belongs to the south Indian cuisine, in south India there are many different types of idli recipes are available. Mainly this version of idli is prepared from rava idli, tomato puree and some other spices. Taste of this easy to make fry idli is really very yummy and fantastic plus it is also good for health is well.

All the required ingredients to make this quick fried idli are very simple and commonly available in almost every kitchens of the world. In India people always tries something new and does variations in their regular cooking sometimes fails but sometimes variations comes really yum, this is one variation from them. Along with this you can also do heart shape idli, spicy idiyappam, instant semolina appam etc…….

Ingredients for Fried Idli:

Main Ingredients:

12 Rava Idli Cut Into Small Pieces.
3 Medium Size Tomato Puree.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

Some Curry Leaves.
¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
¼ tsp Coriander Powder.
¼ tsp Fennel Powder.
¼ tsp Turmeric Powder.
¼ tsp Mustard Seeds or Rai Dana.
Pinch of Asafoetida.
2 tbsp Oil.

Fried Idli Preparations:

  • Heat oil in pan, when oil gets little hot put in cumin seeds, asafoetida and let it crackle.
  • Now add in turmeric powder, coriander powder, fennel powder, red chilli powder, curry leaves and tomato puree.
  • Mix all the ingredients very well then season with salt again mix well.
  • Now cover and cook it for few minutes till tomatoes get cooked nicely.
  • Finally add idli in it and mix with other spices and ingredients, cover and cook for another 1 minute.
  • After 1 minute turn the heat off mix it well and serve hot.
