As the name suggest the cooking of this yummy snack, yah it is prepared specially at the time of fasting during festivals like Navratri and Janmashtmi in India. Mainly this snack is prepared from fox nut or makhane, melon seeds, almonds and some other ingredients. As you all know makhane is a very healthy ingredient.

Usually people don’t like to have makhane or fox nut as they are not much good in taste but for fasting it is one best as it is good for healthy and gaining calories. You can prepare this quick fox nut snack anytime during the day and have it. Along with this you may also like some other fasting recipes like kuttu flour pakora, Rajgira seeds kheer, Rajgira pooris etc……

Ingredients for Fox nut Snack Recipe for Fasting:

Main Ingredients:

1 Cup Makhana.
½ Cup Melon Seeds.
¼ Cup Almonds.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

Some Raisins.
Some Chopped Dry Coconut.
Black Pepper.
Rock Salt or Sendha Namak as per taste.
2 tsp Pure Ghee or Desi Ghee.

Fox nut Snack Recipe for Fasting Preparations:

  • Dry roast the melon seeds in a pan, stir continuously so they don’t get burnt.
  • When seeds start crackling take them out in a plate.
  • Now in the same pan put ghee then add almonds and fry them at medium heat till become light brown.
  • Stir them continuously, don’t fry much else they’ll taste bitter, take them out in a plate.
  • Now in the same ghee put dry coconut and fry them also till become light golden brown then take out in plate.
  • Now put makhane in same ghee and fry them little then turn the heat off and take out them in plate.
  • Now add raisins, black pepper and sendha namak in all the fried ingredients and mix well and serve the delicious and healthy fox nut snack.
